On 28 November 2024, Lebronze alloys had the privilege of joining other leading companies in the energy and ecological transition at the 4ᵉ edition of the Grand Prix des Entreprises Engagées, organised by LCL and Greenflex. 

It was with great pride that we won the award in the Circular Economy for Mid-cap Companies category, in recognition of our upcycling and metal waste recycling business. 

This award is a great honour for us and underlines our commitment to sustainable development and the circular economy. 

A sustainable innovation to promote circularity

In 2021, we inaugurated an Upcycling workshop at our Suippes production site, dedicated to the internal recycling of our metal waste, with the aim of transforming it into reusable raw materials. The materials processed in our workshop come from two main sources:

• Our internal secondary materials from foundries (slag)
• External recycled material from industrial scrap or end-of-life metal products. 

The inauguration of this upcycling workshop marked a significant step forward in reducing our environmental footprint thanks to better recovery of industrial waste and optimisation of the resources used. 
Additionally, our workshop uses a cold transformation process that consumes much less energy than a standard external recycling process, which involves numerous stages. This activity also creates value for the entire Group: resources, skills and know-how. 

By 2022 and 2023, 100% of the slag from the Group's foundries will have been fully recycled thanks to our workshop.

International recognition

In 2023, our Upcycling workshop was also honoured at the Low Carbon Innovation Challenge, organised by Safran as part of the Paris Airshow.
This competition, aimed at rewarding innovations in favour of decarbonisation, ranked our project in 5th position, reinforcing the recognition of our efforts for a more sustainable future.
